“Next Best” Student Scholarship
Mission –
Award Scholarship to an individual aiming for excellence in their field.
Goal – Raise at least $2,500 in scholarship money, preferably to be in the form of a full quarter of tuition (3 classes per quarter, books included). Any leftover money will be awarded in the form of book scholarships to other contestants.
Entry qualifications -
1) must be an inbound, or current college student.
2) must be taking at least 10 credits per quarter.
Entry Format –
Applicants must submit an essay detailing why they believe they will be the “Next Best” in their field of choice. A strong essay will include the clear mission and vision of the applicant, as well as a detailed and realistic road map to future success. Applicants should also include examples of current actions being taken to ensure their success. Finally, applicants should also evaluate and express the impact of their current and future success. (Punctuation and grammar will be evaluated).
Reading Committee – The Bellevue College Foundation will use their standard screening process for all applicants. We will also be inviting: MCS advisor, Young Washington President and Advisor, Student Body President and Student Programs advisor, President/Vice-President Bellevue College.
